WHAT'S NEW JULY 2017

My goodness how time flies and I have been so slack with the website. Not that a lot has been happening mind you except that we have moved house and have been having a few renovations done. Slowly and surely they are getting finished but it has taken a long time. We haven't moved far, just downsized a bit and still have our Buderim PO Box.

Peter and Paul
The main news at the moment is that Paul, after battling an illness called polymyalgia rheumatic which causes extreme pain and discomfort in the muscles and joints, is now getting back to doing a few gigs. It has been a setback for him as he hasn't been able to continue on with the CD Peter Horan has produced for him. It is all waiting at Mark Hillier's Redbak Studios and ready for the vocals which he is hoping to get at later this year. He HAS, however, been practising his songs and the voice is as good as ever.

Caboolture Fair

The first gig coming up is a concert on the 22nd July 2pm at the Senior Citizens' Centre Caboolture and organized by Mike and Neville from 4OUR FM. Yummy afternoon tea will be available at a small cost. Tickets at $15 will be available at the door with a percentage going to the radio station. Paul has many fans in the Caboolture area and we hope to see you there on the 22nd.

Next is rather exciting also as Paul has been invited to perform at the Slim Dusty Festival in Kempsey in October this year. He will be doing about 4 spots I believe so we are looking forward to that one.

Paul will be returning to where it all began next Easter, Hartwood Campfires and Country Music. Tom Maxwell has invited Paul as a special guest. We will be looking forward to seeing all our mates and supporters there again. Good Friday is March 30th so hope to see you there.

Grandson, Grant came up from Melbourne and produced an interesting short video on Paul's career, spanning shopping centre appearances in the early days, concerts and the Hartwood Festival. There is a copy at the Tamworth Country Music Hall of Fame and now below!

We had been planning some caravan trips but haven't had time so hopefully at the end of this year and next we will take some trips with Rahni and Oscar who are still going strong.

Hopefully Paul will have recorded the new CD and we'll take it out on the road. Paul's Mother and Father were a huge part of Paul's early career and were always there to help setting up and selling records and known by his fans as the Roadie and the Shirtmaker.

Happy and safe travels to all,

Hele & Paul
